The national Bank of Kazakhstan, a very conservative approach to the issue of regulation of cryptocurrency and intends to prohibit the purchase and sale for the tenge, the activities of the exchanges in this segment, as well as any form of mining, said in an interview with RIA Novosti the head of the Central Bank Daniyar Akishev.

“In Kazakhstan, the national Bank is conservative about this issue, I welcome only quite tight restrictions. That is, we want to ban the purchase and sale of cryptocurrencies in the national currency, we want to ban the activities of the exchanges on this segment and all kinds of mining,” said Akishev.

According to him, cryptocurrencies are a lot of problems, chief of which is the protection of the rights of consumers of these services.

“We minimize the risks associated with the national market, but certainly none of the Central Bank does not have full functionality to administer this market cross-border market, so at least we need to stop this risk using the national currency,” he said.

From his words follows, that cryptocurrencies are the perfect tool for money laundering and tax evasion and the tough stance of the Central Bank in this respect is supported by most state bodies of Kazakhstan.

“Amendments to the legislation, which should cause this to tighten, we have prepared”, — he added.
