Chinese police have detained three criminals who were involved in the theft of cryptocurrency, writes Bitcoin.com. According to preliminary information, the hackers stole bitcoins and other digital assets worth up to 800 million yuan ($87 million).

As noted by local media, citing security organs, criminals hacked the computers of private users and companies. After this, they received access to the digital wallets of the victims and stole kryptonite.

The local police officer said: “Our Bureau had not engaged in such Affairs. This is the first case associated with the virtual currency in Shanxi”.

The investigation began in March 2018. The police asked the victim, a resident of XI’an city of Shanxi province. He told police that unknown stole its digital assets at $15 million.

Law enforcement bodies have addressed for the help to IT professionals who helped them learn the activity of fraudsters and reach the first suspect. He was detained in Hunan province, and two months later, police arrested two more suspects.

To arrest criminals, the police around the clock followed them to get more evidence. The authorities said that the investigation is ongoing.
