Seven of the top football clubs from the UK signed a partnership agreement with the leader of social trading eToro. All transactions between partners are held in bitcoin (BTC).

The seven of clubs from the Premier League, working with the trading platform, include: “Tottenham Hotspur”, “crystal Palace”, “Southampton”, “Brighton and Hove Albion”, “Cardiff city”, “Leicester city” and “Newcastle United”. The transaction will provide the company new opportunities to promote, for example, will enable eToro to place advertising in football stadiums.

“We have received the sponsorship, but instead of traditionally clubs to pay in pounds we pay in bitcoins. To dispose of them clubs will be fully at discretion”, — said Managing Director of eToro.

British newspaper the Telegraph even reported that the top football clubs will soon pay wages of its players in the cryptocurrency, however, official confirmation of this statement could not be found.

“We are pleased to welcome eToro our family of commercial partners. This company is a major player in a young industry, and we hope to explore the possibilities of cryptocurrency and technologies along with it,” — said the head of the Department for development partnerships in the “Newcastle United” Dale Achison.

This event once again demonstrates the high interest of the representatives of the football industry to the cryptocurrency and the blockchain. Last month another British club “Gibraltar United” said that he was going to pay part of the wages of their players in the cryptocurrency, starting from the next season. The owner of the club noted that many foreign players find it difficult to open a Bank account in the UK, so digital currency would greatly simplify the process of receiving payments.

Another example of using blockchain technology shows UEFA. A few days ago the organization announced that has successfully tested a new mobile app for buying tickets for the matches on the basis of the blockchain. UEFA is convinced that the innovation will help prevent fraud and speculation, associated with traditional ticket.

Returning to eToro is worth noting that recently the company announced support for the IOTA, and in June told about the plans to open a division of OTC trading in cryptocurrencies in London, designed for hedge funds.
