Japanese financial conglomerate Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) has started testing its own crypto-currencies among the Bank employees. It is reported Bitcoin.com. with reference to the local edition of the Sankei Shimbun.

The store, located in the headquarters of the Bank in Tokyo, the opportunity to pay for purchases using cryptocurrency companies MUFG Coin. When paying with a specially designed cash register, Bank employees show the cashier the QR code displayed on their smartphones.

In addition, digital currencies can be used to exchange money between peers. It is known that MUFG Coin pegged to the Japanese yen at the rate of 1:1.

At MUFG believe that testing can detect the problems faced by buyers and sellers in cryptocurrency payments.

The Bank is also developing a rewards program using cryptocurrency for employees who practice healthy lifestyle.

Note, the assets of MUFG approximately $2.76 trillion. Active development of own digital currency the Japanese giant in the financial industry started back in 2015. In may 2017, the Bank announced the start of pilot tests of its own digital currency for internal transactions. It is expected that the company will introduce to the masses MUFG Coin at the beginning of 2019.

We will remind, in January, the company announced plans to launch its own cryptocurrency exchange. MUFG has filed an application to the Japanese financial services Agency (FSA).

In addition, the Bank is working on a service for cryptocurrency traders MUFG Trust that will allow to trade without the need to transfer their funds under the control of the exchanges.
