Leading online retailer Rakuten, who owns Viber, still hatching plans to launch its own cryptocurrency which will be available including in Russia. About it writes “TASS” with reference to the head of Viber, Jamela Agawa.

Plans platform create a currency “without borders” called Rakuten Coin became known in February.

According to Jamela, Agawa, Rakuten Coin can be used to make purchases through the wallet Viber. It is unknown whether it would be possible to change it into rubles, dollars and euros.

Cryptocurrency-based messenger plans to launch next year.

Note, Rakuten acquired all the shares of Viber in 2014. As of June, the audience of the messenger in Russia is about 45 million users.
