A group of Russian state Duma deputies representing the faction “United Russia” and LDPR have submitted for consideration by the legislature a draft Federal law “On holding experiment in the organization and implementation of remote electronic voting on elections of deputies of the Moscow city Duma of the seventh convocation”, which involves the use of blockchain technology.

It is proposed to apply to protect the process and the results of the pilot e-voting on the portal mos.ru in the elections of September 8 in one or more single-member electoral districts – by the decision of Moscow election Committee. While voters will be able to choose the format of participation: remote electronic voting, for which you submit an application on the portal of state and municipal services of Moscow, or traditional.

As explained by one of the authors of the bill, Deputy Dmitry Vyatkin, according to the proposal, the personal data of voters will be kept separate from the results of the vote and they will not be linked. He also noted that the portal was the majority of Moscow residents, the statement about participation in the electronic voting will be synchronized with the system gas-elections, and voter identification and combating “dirty election technology” will introduce a “serious system”.

Recall that until the end of spring in the capital of the Russian Federation using blockchain technology plan to create an IT platform innovation cluster.
