On Change.org there was a petition, which refers to the need to make official XRP cryptocurrency summer Olympic games held in Tokyo in 2020.
The petition States that even though the Olympics is an important event on a global scale, the countries-organizers inevitably face a number of challenges related to infrastructure, transport and payment systems.
“As the flow of tourists into the country, the rapidly growing demand for the local currency, causing long queues at currency exchange offices. This was evident in the events in Beijing in 2008 and Rio de Janeiro in 2016. Confusing exchange rates and language barriers further exacerbate the problem”, — stated in the text of the document.
The author of the petition, Ken Takahashi from Japan, is confident that digital currency XRP from Ripple Labs could effectively solve the problem.
At the time of writing, a petition signed by over 7,000 people.
