On 15 February, the Commission on securities and stock exchanges of the USA (SEC) began its review of the application of the exchange and NYSE Arca, the company Bitwise Asset Management to change rules for listing a bitcoin ETF. This was reported in the official document of the regulator.

Within 45 days, the regulator will need to approve, reject the proposal or to request additional time for its consideration.

In addition, within three weeks the SEC will accept comments on the application from members of the public.

Recall that NYSE Arca and Bitwise announced its intention to launch a bitcoin ETF in January. Feature of the new exchange-traded investment Fund will be the participation of a qualified third-party custodian bitcoins.
