SAP CIS, the Russian subsidiary of software company SAP will create at the Ural Federal University (Urfu) a laboratory to implement blockchain solutions for steel companies. About it writes “Kommersant”.
The project called SAP Next-Gen Lab, the company signed a cooperation agreement with the Pipe metallurgical company (TMK), serving in the role of customer research.
Besides studying blockchain technology, students and teachers of the Ural Federal University will develop products using the industrial Internet of things, augmented reality, machine learning and computer vision.
SAP Next-Gen Lab will be launched before the end of the year, and in 2019, according to Deputy General Director of TMK Alexey Mitenkova, can reach “a certain level of return”.
