Exchange cryptocurrency Binance participated in the financing of eSports blockchain platform chiliZ, said in a press release of the project.

Following the announcement, the Maltese platform, supported Binance, part of the international group Mediarex Group specializing in sport industry and entertainment.

Binance and chiliZ “combine their efforts” and develop “ecosystem-based token to the traditional sports teams-oriented fans.”

The press release also States that chiliZ has already attracted $27 million in the ongoing “private placement”, which probably means closed selling tokens. The company reports that the investment Binance “will ensure the dissemination of technical knowledge, innovation and creativity.”

CEO Binance Changpeng Zhao said that chiliZ provides a “creative way to use blockchain technology” and its “mass distribution”. Zhao also responded to the tweet chiliZ CEO Alexander Dreyfus, in which he reported on funding received.

In March of this year Binance announced the relocation to Malta, and CEO of the exchange called the country “very progressive in relation to cryptocurrency and FINTECH”.

Last week Binance announced the creation of a Fund with a capital of $1 billion, which will support projects operating in the sector of the blockchain, and finances their funds.
