GE Transportation, a subsidiary of American company General Electric, has joined transport blockchain Alliance BiTA (the Blockchain in Transport Alliance). This writes CoinDesk.
“We look forward to the opportunity to share our developments with BiTA, whose members strive to unlock the potential of the blockchain as we serve the industry”, — said Laurie Tolson, Director of digital technology at GE Transportation.
BiTA is developing standards for application of the technology of the distributed registry within the transport industry. The Alliance also includes the companies UPS, FedEx and the Chinese e-Commerce platform JD.com.
GE Transportation is engaged in production of equipment and machinery for rail and marine transport, mining and drilling industries, as well as wind power. Is the largest locomotive building company on the North American continent.
