Yesterday Yahoo Finance has completed the listing of Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Litecoin (LTC) on its platform. This is the only traded on Yahoo Finance cryptocurrency; for the remaining assets of this class contains only actual quotes and statistics.
Some members of the crypto community interpreted the news as an important step towards mass use of crypto-currencies. The founder of Morgan Creek Digital Pompliano Anthony (Anthony Pompliano) wrote in his Twitter:
“Now on Yahoo Finance can you buy Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Ethereum. THE VIRUS IS SPREADING”
Despite the listing on Yahoo Finance, none of the aforesaid assets have not reached the trend of active growth. On the contrary, there was a slight loss in 5.5%. At the moment bitcoin is trading at $6932 (exchange rate at the time of publication of the material). On Tuesday, BTC has broken the important support level at $6800, it began to spread speculative judgments about the imminent rally.
The ether, lost for the last day of 5.18%, has reached relative stability at around $280, with minor lateral fluctuations. In turn, the value of Litecoin is around $60.
In March, Yahoo Japan announced that it will open its own cryptocurrency exchange before April 2019. To do this, the company wished to buy a 40% stake in Tokyo trading platforms BitARG.
