IBM plans to acquire in France for almost two thousand new employees, and many of them will specialize in the blockchain. The newspaper Le Monde said the Executive Director of IBM Virginia Rometty (Virginia Rometty).

Rometty, noted that IBM hires academics for blockchain projects, but did not specify for what:

“Within two years we will hire for IBM in France, 1800 employees. In January we announced the start of the project employed 400 people, we need to research. These jobs include working with artificial intelligence, Baccano and the Internet of things.”

Also, Rometty stressed that IBM currently works with such organisations as banks Crédit Mutuel, Orange Bank, insurance company Generali, the national railway system of France and the multinational company Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (LVMH).

It is worth noting that the tech giant is active in research activities in the field of blockchain. So last week at the conference, Consensus 2018, the company announced a partnership with the eco-friendly techno-startup Veridium Labs, in which IBM tokenserver carbon credits on the public blockchain Stellar.
