The Japanese company GMO Internet Group has announced that it is preparing to release a new ASIC, which will be the first miner in the world, built on a 7nm process technology. The company reported that the development of the new chips began in September last year. Delivery of equipment should begin at the end of October 2018, and the price and detailed specifications will be revealed on 6 June at the launch in Shibuya, Tokyo.

According to rumors, the performance of the new Asa will be around 8 teruhisa per second in energy consumption to 300 watts. That is, the energy efficiency of GMO miner B2 is more than two times higher than current solutions on the market — 37 watts on teraherz. The equipment of the current generation produces about 1 teraherz power for every 100 watts of energy consumed.
