Blockchain-the game CryptoKitties and the organization for the protection of the marine environment has decided to draw public attention to the problem of extinction of sea turtles in an unexpected way — creating a rare virtual kitten, named Kitty Honu. Cryptocotylar became the first in-game collectable object about environmental issues.

The project was implemented with the participation of two major organizations for the protection of nature — Ocean Elders and ACTAI Global. In cooperation with CryptoKitties, the organization held an auction, which were exhibited this unique cryptocotylar. Just week received 18 applications from interested users, in the end, Honu Kitty bought for $25 000.

On the official website of the project says that the money will be directed to the funds of Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and Unite BVI Foundation that work to protect against poaching of rare marine turtles.

Note that the game CryptoKitties has repeatedly been used for charitable purposes. In may, the head of the art Department CryptoKitties, Jill Gaspar (Gaspar Chun-Li), introduced the Cyber Dimension Celestial Kitty, pushed under the hammer for $140 000.
