The state Duma of the Russian Federation is ready to allocate more than 7 million rubles on the analytical study of the regulation of the use of blockchain technology in the financial markets. The choice of the author’s study group will be made on the basis of open competition, applications for which are accepted until the end of the day on 9 April.

The authors of future studies should develop a proposal to create a unified strategy for the regulation of the use of technology taking into account international experience in this matter.

Is expected to completed by September 2018, the document will present “the most optimal for the Russian law approach to the regulation of the use of blockchain technology in the financial market”. For preparation of this solution the authors propose to study the international legal acts in this area and take into account the views of the WTO, the UN, the Organization for economic cooperation and development, development of financial measures of fight against money laundering, Europol, the British Commonwealth of Nations and other organizations.

We will remind that else in October of last year it became known that in 2018 the Russian state Duma will order few dozens of expert-analytical studies, with a focus on the study of international experience in the regulation of cryptocurrencies.
