The Vietnamese State securities Commission (SSC) has banned financial companies to leverage cryptocurrency. It is reported Ethnews.

According to a statement released SSC this week, public companies, companies managing securities investment funds and securities are prohibited from participating “in any transaction for the offer, brokerage or transactional activities related to cryptocurrency”.

This ban continued a series of measures taken by the government after two major fraudulent ICO, made by the company Modern Tech. In April, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has issued a Directive to multiple government agencies, which was called to take a more active part in enforcing rules and regulations related to cryptocurrency. In response to the Directive of the State Bank of Vietnam has banned commercial banks and payment operators to perform operations with cryptocurrency because of concerns about money laundering, terrorist financing and tax evasion.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam has assigned the Ministry of industry and trade, the Ministry of Finance and other government agencies to monitor the import of miners in the country. As a result of last week was declared a temporary ban on the importation of mining equipment.

Even before the fraud of Modern Tech Vietnamese officials are not too sympathetic to the cryptocurrency. In October of last year adopted a ban on the use of digital currencies as means of payment.
