Exactly ten years ago, August 18, 2008, Satoshi Nakamoto and Marty Malmi registered the domain bitcoin.org which today remains one of the best (if not the best) source of information about the main cryptocurrency in the greatest possible number of languages.

According to the posted information on the site, after Nakamoto left the project, he transferred the domain to people outside the circle of developers of bitcoin to prevent sole control. One of the most active owners of the site remains today, one under the pseudonym Cobra (he also owns the popular forum Bitcointalk).

From 2011 to 2013, the site was used mainly for the release of new software versions of bitcoin — Bitcoin Core. In 2013, the site design has changed dramatically: there were added new sections and links to additional ON to work with bitcoin. In 2014, there is documentation for developers.

It is worth noting that bitcoin.org — this is not the official website of bitcoin as a project. As stated on the resource, like nobody owns the email technology, nobody owns the bitcoin network. Thus, no one can officially represent bitcoin.
