Specializing in providing anonymity online Tor Project has started to accept donations in various cryptocurrencies. Recently on the website of the project, a list of digital assets that are accepted as donations.

Dedicated to raising funds for the project Sarah Stevenson in conversation with CoinDesk said that the organization already receives payments in bitcoins. However, the reception of funds was carried out via BitPay processing.

According to her, the project now accepts cryptocurrency payments directly. The funds received are then converted into Fiat on the exchange Kraken.

“We decided to start accepting cryptocurrency because more and more philanthropists have requested this option. Tor Project and the crypto community value their privacy, so it makes sense” — said Sarah Stevenson.
