The Russian government has announced its intention to regulate the blockchain and kriptonyte in the country in cooperation with an intergovernmental organization to combat money laundering (FATF). About it on air of TV channel “Russia 24” said the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation on issues of digital and technological development, Dmitry Peskov.

According to him, the partnership with the FATF considered due to the high risks in this industry, for example, uncontrolled emissions and the creation of financial pyramids.

Dmitry Peskov also noted that cryptocurrency is created in such a way as not to be subject to national regulation. So, he says, make a complaint to the regulators that they do not control the industry “quite strange”.

“Maybe not necessary now to attempt to write a comprehensive law, because it simply will not work. System evolyutsioniruet much faster than the laws are written. It might be worth to create a separate area of the law, about the same as a hundred years ago people created anti-monopoly regulation,” — said Peskov.

In June of this year FATF has announced that it is preparing standards for intergovernmental organizations in combating money laundering. In September, the Deputy Director of the Federal financial monitoring service Pavel Livadny said that the Russian government will use these measures to control stock market.

It is expected that the forthcoming standards, the organization will present before the end of October.
