The Commission on securities and exchange Commission of Thailand (SEC) has updated the list of cryptocurrencies, approved for the ICO and use as the basis for pairs trading.

According to a statement by the Thai SEC, the initial list of approved cryptocurrencies, approved last summer, removed the Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum Classic (ETC) and Litecoin (LTC). Now use to invest in digital tokens through ICO and preparation of trading pairs can be four cryptocurrencies: bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Ripple (XRP) and Stellar (XLM).

“In any case, it should be noted that the announcement of the list of cryptocurrencies is not a confirmation of their status of legal tender”, — said the regulator in a statement.

The SEC Thailand has not explained the reasons for the reduction in the number of approved cryptocurrencies, but stressed that it will not have the “impact on investors or the companies involved in digital assets, since the procedure of conducting the ICO is still not running, and the current exchange of digital assets has never used BCH ETC or LTC as the basis for pairs trading”.

Recall that according to the regulation of the cryptocurrency market of Thailand, conducting the ICO is only possible on special licensed portal. Previously it was assumed that the first will receive the approval of the regulator before the end of last year.
