In the industrial Park “left Bank” on the territory of Kirishi will be opening a data center for mining cryptocurrency. This was reported by the press service of the Leningrad region.

First mining farm will be put into operation on August 20. Representatives of the district administration said that the new center will be the largest project in the mining of cryptocurrencies in the country.

Note, the first initiative to create suitable conditions for mining in the Leningrad region was made by the Governor of the region Alexander Drozdenko. In October 2017, he proposed to build a Technopark on the domestic production of cryptocurrencies into the vacated areas of the Leningrad NPP.

8 months later, the official said that a number of Russian businessmen were interested in financing the project. According to preliminary calculations by Alexander Drozdenko, the launch site for mining will take place in 2021.

ForkLog earlier reported that in Russia for six months of 2018, the number engaged in mining companies rose 15% compared to last year.
