CEO of leading bitcoin exchange Romania CoinFlux Vlad Nistor arrested in the country at the request of the US authorities, and the company’s Bank account was frozen. This writes the local newspaper Mediafax.

It is reported that Nistor is accused of fraudulent activity, participation in organized criminal activity and money laundering. The question of his extradition to the US will be considered by the court of Appeal of Bucharest.

Shortly after the arrest of Nistor CoinFlux stopped work, having published an official statement, saying that its Bank accounts have been frozen, which directly affected custom tools. The company says it is making every effort to return the customers their money.

CoinFlux was founded in 2015 and to date has carried out transactions worth over 200 million euros. On the exchange traded bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and XRP.

Other details of the incident are still unknown.
