Appointed in September by the Minister of Finance of Zimbabwe Mthuli Ncube said that cryptocurrencies will help the country cope with a sharp currency crisis lasting for the past two years. Position Ncube is at odds with previous statements the Reserve Bank, according to Altcoinera.

Ncube cited the example of the Swiss Central Bank, which adopted a more progressive position regarding cryptocurrencies. He added that Zimbabwe should adopt the experience of European countries.

As writes the edition, the Minister’s position could become the driving force for the emergence in Zimbabwe of the units, helping the Central Bank to improve the understanding of the digital assets.

It is noteworthy that in may the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe has banned financial institutions from conducting any transactions with bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

In July, the financial regulator has softened its position. In particular Bank Governor John Mangudya stressed that before accepting the cryptocurrency in the country, you need to carefully examine their nature.
