The joint venture of IBM Corporation and the Danish shipping giant Maersk, which is to develop solutions based on the technology of the blockchain, was announced in January, joined in 94 international companies. It is expected that partners will use blockchain platform TradeLens as a global logistics ecosystem for the collaborative transaction management.

Although a full launch TradeLens scheduled for the end of this year, today the platform is already used by logistics companies Agility, CEVA Logistics, DAMCO, Kotahi, PLH Trucking Company, Ancotrans and WorldWide Alliance, while it recorded more than 154 million events. The ecosystem includes more than 20 ports and terminals around the world, including SA Singapore, International Container Terminal Services Inc, Patrick Terminals, Modern Terminals, Port of Halifax, Port of Rotterdam, Port of Bilbao, PortConnect, PortBase and Holt Logistics. It also supports customs structures of the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Australia and Peru.

Recall that the main goal of the creators TradeLens — to provide a platform for the digitization of global trade built on open standards and available across a global ecosystem of navigation.
