Blockchain platform TradeLens created by the IBM Corporation and a world leader in the field of container shipping, Maersk, has 94 participants. Full-scale commercial launch is scheduled for late 2018, said a press release.

TradeLens is a digital trading platform intended for use by the global logistics ecosystem. Many trading partners can use the decision for cooperation and common control transactions without compromising their privacy.

The platform is already used by operators of large terminal — PSA Singapore, International Container Terminal Services Inc, Patrick Terminals, Modern Terminals, Port of Halifax, Port of Rotterdam, Port of Bilbao, PortConnect, PortBase and Holt Logistics.

At the same time, in testing the technology involved, the customs authorities of the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Australia and Peru. Add that TradeLens also use a logistics company Agility, CEVA Logistics, DAMCO, Kotahi, PLH Trucking Company, Ancotrans and WorldWide Alliance.

It is noteworthy that IBM and Maersk will sell access to the platform separately, not dividing among themselves a Commission. Company representatives are convinced that such a model will allow much faster to bring the product to market.
