Chinese Internet giant Alibaba and American Corporation IBM leads in the number of issued patents related to the technology of the blockchain.

In their study, the Daily iPR relied on the patent databases of China, USA, Europe, Japan and South Korea, as well as the world intellectual property organization.

According to the report, Alibaba ranked first in the rating is the company feature 90 patent applications. The second position belongs to the IBM with 89 applications, followed by Mastercard, with 80 patents, and the fourth financial conglomerate Bank of America with 53 projects.

The top five active players in the field of blockchain-patents of the people’s Bank of China (PBoC). 44 patent applications the financial regulator describes decisions issued by PBoC for the digital currency. It is noteworthy that the laboratory of digital currencies of China’s Central Bank issued 40 patents within 12 months.
