SBI Holdings and provider of blockchain-solutions R3 Holdo LLC announced the creation of a joint venture. According to a press release, the main goal of this cooperation is to facilitate and promote licenses blockchain platform Corda R3.

In addition, the joint venture will facilitate cooperation partners Corda with foreign offices R3, the statement noted. The company intends to conduct business in the region East Asia.

Joint venture — SBI R3 Japan Co — capital of 500 million yen ($4.57 million) is based in Japan, 60% in it belongs to SBI Holdings, the share of R3 — 40%.

Head office SBI Holdings is located in Hong Kong, the firm is a subsidiary of the Japanese Finance Corporation SBI Group. As emphasized in the press release, SBI Holdings — the largest foreign shareholder in R3.

Recall that in last year’s SBI Holdings launched a cryptocurrency exchange VCTRADE recently through the venture capital division of SBI Crypto Investment has invested $15 million in cryptomancer-wallets to blockchain assets startup Tangem and
operator mobile crypto company BRD. R3 in January launched a network Corda and provided the Dutch ING Bank unlimited number of licenses for the use of Corda Enterprise platform for a period of 5 years.
