The developers focused on the increased privacy of the users of the bitcoin wallet Wallet Samourai announced the release of a new version of the product, the main feature of which was the refusal to view balances in US dollars.
We’ve pushed an update 0.98.87 — This one will definitely ruffle feathers, but we hope you understand. Read why we decided to remove all fiat currency from Samourai Wallet in our latest blog post. Plus Samourai now available in Chinese and 11 other languages https://t.co/MAt9Gc6ZrP

Available for devices on Android, Samourai Wallet 0.98.87 now also supports 12 languages, including Russian, Chinese, Spanish, French and German.
But the most remarkable innovation was the fact that now the balance of the user is displayed exclusively in bitcoins the many options they are displayed in dollars.
“We consider it vital that our existing and future users understand that when they carry out transactions in the bitcoin network, they participate in the bitcoin economy and conduct transactions exclusively with BTC – native token the network”, — stated in the message Samourai Wallet.
Also, the developers say that when the wallet was first launched in 2015, they believed that the conversion to Fiat will be convenient for those users who would like to have a rough idea of how much their bitcoins are worth in Fiat. Assuming that users are not ready to refuse from Association with Fiat, it was decided to install conventional “street price” of bitcoin based on the average exchange rate exchanges and exchange platforms that do not require compliance AML/KYC.
The developers Samourai Wallet has always been known as the real bitcoin maximalists, and as they say, in the year 2017 has become more distinct rather disturbing trend: many of the media, data providers, celebrities and ordinary users began to talk about bitcoin transactions, automatically converting them to USD.
They also remind us how “famous altcon-promoter” Roger Ver announced its 500 thousand followers on Twitter, that “transaction fee soared to $55”.
“He, of course, know better, and he purposefully was engaged in propaganda for their own selfish purposes, but done is done. After this, we noticed that many users began to mark their balance sheets, the amount sent and the fee to the miners not the BTC and in USD. We spent a lot of time explaining to users why yesterday they had $ 8 and today 7. We still believed that they were not willing to give up to translate everything into Fiat, and that the educational process is a change,” — said the developers.
However, now that there is quite a bit of time until the end of 2018, the situation has not changed, and users, apparently, “never be ready”, they say Samourai Wallet.
“Working with Fiat currency is familiar, and you probably interact with them constantly. But this is the reason why in the context of a bitcoin wallet Fitna currency is a crutch. We decided that starting with version 0.98.97 in our purse this crutch will no longer be”, — said the developers.
According to them, they understand that to some it can cause discomfort and may even lead to the loss of some number of users, however, are convinced of the need to perceive the bitcoin as bitcoin, and not to associate its value with the dollar or any other Fiat currency.
The possibility of converting to Fiat is, however, stored in the app. Watch Only because this feature requires the independent merchants and in several other cases.
Note that version 1.0 of the purse, expected to be released before the end of this year, and an important stage in this process was the release of the July release Samourai Wallet 0.98.75.
