The Korea customs service (KCS) signed an agreement with the IT division of Samsung conglomerate on the establishment of a blockchain platform, the application of which is intended to enhance the transparency of customs procedures during export.

KCS also signed memoranda of understanding with 48 agencies and companies, including shipping and insurance that will need to be nodes in a decentralized network.

The platform is built on technology Samsung Nexledger. The decision will allow export-related companies in real time, share documents, accompanying each stage of the customs process and to prevent their falsification, I believe at Samsung SDS.

“The successful implementation of this project will contribute to improve the competitiveness of logistics by further strengthening leadership in logistics blockchain”, — said the representative of Samsung SDS.

Custom Korea first drew attention to the possibility of applying the technology of distributed registry for verification of documents — the Customs and border service of the USA has begun testing a blockchain-solution for certificate authentication.

Recall that in August Samsung SDS introduced created in partnership with the Korean Federation of banks (KFB) certification blockchain platform BankSign.
