The tax administration of the Chinese city of Shenzhen has allowed residents to pay for travel on the railway, on public transport and in taxis through the blockchain app. It is reported portal Asia Times.

New blockchain platform is available at the metro station Futian. It allows passengers to pay for their digital tickets at the end of each trip via the app messenger WeChat. All payments will be recorded in the blockchain.

Shenzhen is a leading Chinese technology center. With a population of about 20 million people. It is expected that the ticketing system on the blockchain per day can cater for up to 170 000 passengers.
