Chicago Board options exchange (CBOE) plans to launch futures trading on Ethereum before the end of this year. Reported by Business Insider, citing its own sources.

At the moment the CBOE is awaiting the approval of the Commission on urgent exchange trade of the USA (CFTC) and will start trading Ethereum futures after the relevant decision.

Denny Kim, Director of development, the company SFOX, offer CBOE will allow traders to use a long and short position at the ETH, this will be the next step to making this asset class.

“I think that the new product will be new investment opportunities that will end the bearish trend of the market and deployed it up,” he said.

Earlier, the President of the Chicago Board options exchange Chris Concannon stated that the Commission on securities and exchange Commission (SEC) finally eliminated the barriers to the potential launch of Ethereum futures.

However, the head of rival exchange CME Group Terry Duffy in July made it clear, that does not hurry with the launch of futures on Ethereum and other altcoins because of their volatility, taking a wait and see attitude.
