The operator of the cryptocurrency exchange, Poloniex, investment app Circle Invest and developer stablon USDC startup Circle intends to raise an additional $250 million investment. It is reported by The Information.

In previous rounds of funding Circle raised $240 million from Goldman Sachs, IDG Capital and other investment firms. In the last funding round, when they managed to get $110 million from the Chinese mining giant Bitmain, startup capitalization was about $3 billion.

Soon, however, the market value of the Circle, presumably, decreased significantly. The head of a bitcoin start-up Jeremy Allair in conversation with the publication confirmed this hypothesis, noting that the decline in market activity had a negative impact on financial performance Circle.

We will remind, competing with Circle American stock exchange Kraken is preparing for a private placement of securities. Also at the end of last year attracted $300 million in the United States the largest cryptocurrency company Coinbase.
