IT-giant Intel has filed a patent application on a computing device for automatic validation of blocks and later adding them to the chain. The relevant documentation is published on the website of the Bureau of patents and trademarks USA (USPTO).
Describe the mechanism of validation is different from traditional mining, based on a network of competing nodes.
Computing power will be guided by pre-programmed settings that determine how validation blocks in the decentralized network.
The application also States that the distributed registries can be not the most effective form of data storage.
“Distributed registries are an inherent scaling problem. All validators must keep a copy of all transactions and all transactions must pass through all the validators. This leads to an extremely large number of messages in the network”, — the document says.
This message flow can determine the scaling problem.
We will remind, earlier it became known that Intel is working on hardware “accelerator” of mining, which will reduce the energy consumption during the mining of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
