The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev signed a law on measures for development of digital economy in the Republic, in which the introduction and development activities in the field of trafficking scriptaction, mining, the blockchain training of specialists, international cooperation in the blockchain industry and the legal framework for the industry related to key areas.
According to the document, from October 1, 2018, the activity in the cryptocurrency industry, including the creation of kryptomere are subject to licensing, the National Agency for project administration under the President of Uzbekistan.
In addition, this Agency and the Ministry for development of information technologies and communications is tasked to develop a program for the development of blockchain technology at 2018-2020 Until January 1, 2019, they must also submit a draft law “On digital economy and blockchain technologies.”
On January 1, 2021 scheduled start of the introduction of technology to the work of public bodies, registers, classifiers and other databases, the corporate governance system of large commercial organizations with predominant participation of the state in the authorized Fund, clearing operations, payments, trade Finance, project lending.
And in the next three months JSC “Uzbekenergo” JSC “Uzbekgidroingeo” should present the pilot project “based on the introduction of elements of the digital economy and activities with scriptactive”, including mining cryptocurrency.
We will remind that in February of this year President of Uzbekistan signed a decree according to which the Central Bank, July, the Finance Ministry, the economy Ministry and several other ministries and departments of Turkmenistan for the period until 1 September to prepare a draft law governing the treatment of “electronic money”.
