The US President Donald trump has signed a decree on the establishment of a working group whose objectives, among other things, will investigate crimes committed through the use of bitcoin and other digital currencies. This writes CoinDesk.

In the document published on the White house website, the industry of cryptocurrency is mentioned in the context of fraud, the fight against which is among the priority tasks faced by US authorities.

It is expected that the working group will present the presidential administration a report on this issue.

We will remind, earlier this year in the United States was established another working group on the issue of cryptocurrencies – the initiative was led by the Ministry of Finance, who said that he will cooperate with international partners in the G-20 to prevent the use of bitcoin in illegal activities.

In addition, since January 1 of this year in the United States came into effect new rules under which exchange transactions of cryptocurrencies are subject to tax. It has become one of the most significant changes in the tax laws of the country for the past 30 years.
