In the framework of the acceleration program PortXL the port of Rotterdam signed a contract with the startup CargoLedger about the introduction of blockchain technology in tracking of goods. It is expected that the decision will improve the quality control over the supply chain and create a transparent and safe system for the development of an innovative approach in the management and movement of goods.

Data on the passage of goods of different phases of displacement and the conditions in which they are located, until the temperature and humidity of the environment will be recorded on the blockchain with the provision of access to this information to recipients in the port of Rotterdam.

Recall that in Australia the unit of the auditing company PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in cooperation with the chamber of Commerce and the port of Brisbane started developing blockchain platform Trade Community System, whose mission is “to promote the integration and coherence of the commercial operators in the supply chain and logistics sector”.

And in Russia, a national licensed operator of mobile satellite communications “Inmarsat” in the territory of the Russian Federation “Morsvyazsputnik” and JSC “KIWI Blockchain Technology” decided to create integrated logistics blockchain-a platform for support and control of cargo transportation by water transport.
