Emercoin developers have submitted more than a dozen new updates and improvements to the Protocol, adding in particular support for Segregated Witness (SegWit). Also launched a new version of the wallet – now it matches the new rules of the blockchain and decentralized development kits software (dSDK) .
At the request of the Emercoin team, these updates were the result of six months of development.

“First of all, we have upgraded to Bitcoin core Emercoin 0.14 and added support SegWit . Removing the signature information of the transaction and storing it outside of the base unit transactions SegWit reduces the size of the new transactions and, as a result, reduces the size of the blockchain and increases its capacity”, — is spoken in the message on the website of Emercoin.
Also optimized Transaction optimization algorithm that determines the optimal subset of unspent outputs earliest transaction (UTXO) for the new output transaction. According to the developers, Transaction Optimizer now runs 10 times faster and its accuracy increased to fractional parts of a cent, which helps to reduce the size of the transactions and the blockchain in General. It also became easier to collect required quantity of EMC of different UTXO without creating additional and unnecessary UTXO.
Additionally, updated support for STUN (utilities progress through the sessions for NAT — mechanism in TCP/IP networks that allows you to convert IP addresses of transit packets) and expanded the list of available servers — today it includes more than 200 independent servers, providing a high level of anonymity of users in the Emercoin blockchain. Also added logging of the types of STUN responses.
Separately, the Emercoin team draws attention to the fact that due to changes in the core blockchain laid the Foundation for innovative service RandPay, the launch of which is expected in the next few months.
“This is the solution for microtransactions and an alternative Protocol Lightning Network. RandPay will work on the Emercoin blockchain, and on its basis it will be possible to develop other payment-oriented services”, — said the representatives of Emercoin.

Recall, EmerCoin developers have positioned as a distributed system of trusted information, placing a priority on solving real-world problems and the development of the project as a safe multi-service distributed network. The eponymous cryptocurrency uses an hybrid algorithm of a consensus proof-of-work and proof-of-stake.
Earlier in July, was launched by independent service ENUMER, which is a VoIP system based on the Emercoin blockchain. It allows you to make free calls online calls, without the traditional operators.
