National center of cyberspace, Iran announced the completion of the draft law on national cryptocurrency, according to Financial Tribune.

The draft national cryptocurrencies have been developed in accordance with the instructions of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. According to the Deputy head of the local Council on cyberspace Mandiana said, his Department is actively promoting the idea of a national cryptocurrency, which can serve as a tool to bypass U.S. sanctions.

Also, Mahdian noted that the authorities will soon eliminate legal uncertainty in the area of cryptocurrencies, as the Central Bank of Iran intends to September this year to explain the official position on this issue.

Currently, Iranian banks and other credit institutions are prohibited to conduct transactions with cryptocurrencies due to the concern of local authorities about the risks of money laundering.

Earlier this month the consulting company Accenture published a report that supported the Iranian government group and local criminal elements engaged in the distribution of ransomware cryptocurrencies on a global scale.
