IBM will be the technology partner of the Australian government in matters of application of the blockchain. The parties signed a five-year cooperation agreement worth 1 billion Australian dollars ($740 million), according to Bloomberg.
The tech giant will provide government departments automation and help to implement blockchain technology in the public services.
IBM will also create a platform for the protection and storage of Australian citizens. The authorities believe that the future solution would save taxpayers ‘ money amounting to about 100 million Australian dollars ($73 million).
