Corporation Fujitsu has announced that will develop an application for field testing blockchain platform, the Japanese banking Association (JBA) for the calculations in the payment clearing network Zengin.

Testing involves participation of the Board of Directors of the banks, Mizuho, MUFG, Resona, Joyo, FUKUOKA Bank, Nishi-Nippon City, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust, Keiyo and banking Corporation Sumitomo Mitsui, as well as the use of a cryptocurrency for interbank calculations. The purpose of this testing is to check the viability of the blockchain technology and the new system of processing small transactions in real-time.

In addition, Fujitsu will also assess developed in the 2017 fiscal year, the P2P platform for money transfers to the three largest banks with other financial institutions.

The company says that taking part in the project, Fujitsu aims to create a new platform using new technology to transition to a cashless society.

We will remind, in the summer of this year it became known that the Corporation uses Fujitsu technology solution blockchain startup IOTA to create a new Protocol standard in the production of IT-devices – Industry 4.0. And earlier this year Fujitsu announced the creation of a Centre of blockchain innovation in Brussels for research, development and implementation of blockchain technology “in all directions”.
