According to the developers, they have created a “universal hardware” that allows you to associate imToken with Ledger and the Taiwanese manufacturer CoolBitX, which this spring had invested the Japanese financial giant SBI Holdings.

According to CEO and founder imToken Ben Heh, this initiative aims to bridge the gap between software and hardware wallets, which ultimately will facilitate mass adoption of cryptocurrency.

“Despite the fact that the cold wallets are the best solution for storing private keys, the degree of mass adoption of such devices is still low. But we want to bring in “hot” wallets security hardware devices”, he added.

Also Ben Heh noted that the interaction between wallets will be ensured through Bluetooth. This means that the new solution will not support based solely on a USB connection wallets, including popular among many cryptoendoliths Ledger Nano S.

Integration imToken with a Bluetooth-enabled wallet Ledger Blue is expected in December and Coolwallet S from CoolBitX in the first quarter of 2019.

Created in 2016 imToken subsequently became one of the most popular Ethereum wallets. It is used by about 7 million people, 75% of whom were residents of China. In June imToken during the funding round of Serie A has attracted $10 million investment from IDG Capital of the company.

We also learned that the Beijing-based manufacturer of hardware wallets imKey announced the release of the device for cold storage scriptaction. The new device will support Ethereum-wallet imToken. The possibility of pre-order hardware wallet will appear at the end of this year.
