The most common client FOR Ethereum received an update that includes the necessary procedures to activate hard forks Constantinople. This writes CoinDesk.

Code Go-ethereum (Geth) v1.8.20 was published on Tuesday. The new version will allow users to take part in the hard forks, which, according to the agreement the developers must be made on the block 7 080 000. Because the Geth along with the Parity used by most nod in Ethereum, the latest release is of great importance for the future updates.

Hardwork Constantinople was planned for November, but was repeatedly postponed. Last Friday, the developers set the block to perform the update, which is, roughly, needs to be extracted in mid-January. The test network Rinkeby hardwork will happen at block 660 3 663.

Constantinople makes a few changes in Ethereum at the Protocol level and aims to optimize the code of the platform. Together with the launch of the update, the reward for miners of cryptocurrency will be reduced from 3 to 2 ETH ETH. Also “bomb complexity”, is designed to encourage developers to timely update, will be postponed for 18 months.

Constantinople is the second of two stages of a massive upgrade Metropolis. After the developers intend to focus on short-term roadmap and long-term Ethereum 1x – Ethereum 2.0.
