According to the founder of Epic Games Tim Sweeney, adding support cryptocurrency Monero in a Row Retail store specializing in products with the symbols online game Fortnite, was made by accident.

“In fact, the sudden onslaught of Fortnite in the world of cryptocurrency was just an accident. We worked with a partner on the opening of the store attributes and at some time made payments in Monero”, — wrote Sweeney, commenting on the recent news.

At the same time, the developer noted that many employees at Epic Games are big fans of decentralised technology underlying the cryptocurrency.

Many of us at Epic are big fans of the decentralized computing tech underlying cryptocurrency, however a lot more work is needed on volatility and fraud-proofing before bringing it to such a broad audience that includes younger gamers.

According to him, the massive introduction of cryptocurrencies to constrain their high volatility and fraud in the industry. Sweeney also added that although company representatives do not conduct with anybody negotiations about cryptocurrencies, however, are actively studying related materials and “talk to smart people” to eventually be integrated into this area.

To date, support for Monero in Retail Row is disabled.
