Platform democracynotary.org was tested in a recent referendum in Macedonia on the question of approval of the agreement with Greece providing for the name change of the country. Her task was to notarial certification of public reports about the referendum process to provide verified official documents and protecting the authenticity and integrity of the statements in light of the proliferation of misinformation.

“Manipulation of facts is one of the most common problems of modern society. Together with our partners we have developed a solution in the Emercoin blockchain designed to protect the integrity of documents used in the course of events like the referendum in Macedonia. The system has all the advantages of decentralized technologies: high security, transparency and trust,” said managing partner Emercoin Konstantin Bigus.

The developed solution is generic and can be used during other events that require the publication of important data falsification which can lead to distrust of government organizations. Its main components will be in the public domain.

Design 4 Democracy Coalition is an organisation for the protection of democracy and human rights worldwide. The organization uses innovative technology to ensure the integrity of information and prevent the dissemination of false and misleading facts. As representatives of the organization, they have a working understanding of the problems and threats at the intersection of democracy and technology.

“The problem of misinformation worse, before there is a change for the better. It is extremely important to the technology industry and the international community worked together and studied a wide range of potential solutions that will solve the problem of disinformation”, — said the chief specialist on innovation in the NDI Chris Doten.

We will remind, in September, was presented the service Emernotar that using blockchain technology preserves the integrity of digital documents and media files, protects copyrights and safely identificeret users.
