State Duma Deputy from LDPR Vasily Vlasov proposed to use blockchain technology for the mayoral election in Moscow, which will take place on 9 September 2018. About this he wrote in a letter to the Chairman of the Central election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, reports “RIA Novosti”.

According to him, technology is a distributed registry makes it possible to vote remotely without the risk of third-party intervention and on condition of anonymity.

“The level of turnout in Moscow is falling from year to year. The transition to electronic voting could significantly increase turnout in the upcoming elections, as well as to reduce the cost of their implementation”, — said Vasily Vlasov.

According to him, Moscow is the most advanced from the point of view of implementation of information technologies in work of public authorities in the Russian Federation. For this reason, the elections of the mayor of the capital with the help of the blockchain is extremely advisable, as it will allow to test in practice the effectiveness of the technology.

In February, Vasily Vlasov has acted with the similar initiative, inviting the CEC to implement blockchain-system for the electronic citizenship for the implementation of the voting process. The answer to your query, however, has not yet received.

We will remind, in April, Ella Pamfilova said that the next Federal election, the CEC of Russia plans to create a voting system on a blockchain.
