The blockchain technology startup Blockstream announced the launch of the beta version of API satellite (Satellite Blockstream API Beta) that will allow anyone to transfer data using encrypted messages and satellite network of the company. For developers the possibility to send messages through a RESTful API, but for other users through the website Blockstream.

Payment for services will be conducted on a test network Lightning and today is actually not charged, and the maximum message size is limited to the session in 10 seconds.
Recall that in Blockstream Satellite in December last year, introduced support for the Lightning transaction, and the previously – Liquid Network. A year ago, the project launched a system for processing micropayments, which aims to facilitate the development of Bitcoin-based applications Lightning Network.
