The largest manufacturer mining equipment Bitmain has submitted a software update for products Antminer S9, which involved conflicting optimization algorithm AsicBoost.

Also representatives from Bitmain promised to soon release updates for all devices based on chips BM1387, among which models Antminer R4, S9i, S9j, T9 and T9+.

In Bitmain believe that the decision AsicBoost improve performance of the devices. Also, the company noted that initially not planned to release that support this technology because of the possible patent disputes. However, the legal advisors, the company management has assured that AsicBoost there is not a specific patent application.

Previously, the optimization algorithm of the Protocol has criticized the developers of Bitcoin Core. According to them, though AcicBoost and is able to increase to 20% the performance of the devices using this solution undermines the sustainability of the network.

Also Bitmain has stated that the companies controlled by the pools BTC.com and Antpool use AsicBoost since March of this year.
