One of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, Binance, has announced that it is donating $1 million to people affected by the disaster in southwest Japan. There 7 July, 2 million people were forced to leave their homes in torrential rains that caused massive flooding.

Most of the disaster affected Prefecture in Japan, Hiroshima and Okayama, to a lesser extent, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Kyoto, Gifu, Shiga, Osaka, Hyogo, Kochi and Fukuoka. As of Monday morning, 9 July, the Japanese TV channel NHK reported on 98 of those killed and 56 missing; three people remain in critical condition.

Exchange Binance, the profits of which will be this year from $500 million to $1 billion (in the first quarter it earned $300 million), decided to transfer to the victims $1 million, the Head of the exchange Chanpen Zhao also called “cryptocurrency partners” to join the initiative:

Our hearts go out to people affected in Western Japan. Binance start with helping them in the amount of $1 million in bitcoins, Coin Binance and Japanese yen. We also ask that criptoportico to join us in helping our needy friends.
