After the opening of the conference Ethereum Foundation Devcon IV, which is being held in Prague, the Creator of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin issued another warning about scammers using his name for their own purposes.

So, he tweeted:

I’m not in control [email protected]; any email from this address is a fraud. All my email addresses are in domains .com or .org.

Perhaps the conference was the occasion for the beginning of the fraudulent campaign. Under tweet Buterin some users reported that they received emails from fake addresses; others joked that after the tweet, the scammers will create a fake boy on the specified domains.

Domain .me, the national domain of Montenegro, is a homonymous domain. Fraudsters have chosen not accidentally: on page Buterin tweeted a link to his profile on about.me — a popular site providing anyone personal web hosting. In connection with this address [email protected] could likely to inspire confidence in potential victims.

We will remind that in the beginning of the year, Scam artists, posing as people who are well known in cryptosuite and technology world (Vitalik Buterin, Elon musk, John McAfee), convinced them to send the broadcast in exchange for remuneration in bitcoin or other bonuses. Buterin repeatedly drew attention to it (and even called himself on Twitter as Vitalik Non-giver of Ether, that is, “acne, not distributing the air”).

The Creator of Ethereum asked its readers not to trust such tweets because he was “too lazy” to send to someone live.
